Here is another drawing of Meohwee. My first animal scratchboard portrait was of Meohwee and I think my scratchboard skills have improved since that first drawing. I thought it was time for a do-over, so to speak. This one is a head shot. Meohwee lives in Northfield, MN with my friend Jerri.
I am working on my first two commissioned scratchboard animal portraits—both are of dogs.
I found out today that I got into a national juried show, Less is More: Small Works in a Great Space, which will be at the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College in Maryland in June. The judges were Jack Rasmussen (director and curator of the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center) and Joann Moser (senior curator of graphics at Smithsonian American Art Museum). You can see the exhibit online prior to the opening at the gallery at the following URL: http://themitchellgallery.org/sales/
